Programme Information

COMPETANCY STATEMENT

Upon successful completion of the Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer Course individuals will be:

  • Eligible for registration as a Fisaf accredited Fitness Leader and Personal Trainer
  • Able to perform and competently analyze a written health risk screening questionnaire
  • Able to measure and interpret blood pressure, body composition and regional fat distribution
  • Able to develop safe and effective resistance training programs for a variety of general and special needs
  • Able to develop safe and effective cardiovascular training programs for a variety of general and special needs
  • Able to develop safe and effective flexibility programs for a variety of general and special needs
  • Competently teach correct exercise technique for the former fitness components
  • Perform and analyze a nutritional analysis by questionnaire

ASSESSMENT PROCEDURES AND REGISTRATION

  1. The online International E test consists of 100 Exercise Science and Pedagogy multiple choice questions.
  2. You will be required to complete the Study manual given to you at the commencement of the course prior to your practical assessment. The Study Manual shall be handed in to the Assessor at the time of your Practical Exam.
  3. For the Practical Assessment, you are to arrange a friend, colleague or other trainer, to act as a client. The location of the practical examination will be arranged between you and the allocated examiner. Blood pressure kits, caliphers, swiss balls etc are all provided for the examination exercise. It is recommended that you practice the assessment to fine tune your skills prior to the examination. The PT practical is Pass or Fail.
  4. You will need a valid CPR certification.
  5. You will be provided with a list of FISAF Certified Examiners available to examine you.
